1. Who we are

Landzaya is the data controller for personal data collected through this site. We're based in Nairobi, Kenya.

2. What we collect

  • Account data — name, email, password hash (when you sign up).
  • Report inputs — coordinates and labels of plots you analyse.
  • Usage data — pages visited, events triggered, anonymised device and browser info.
  • Support messages — anything you send us via contact forms or email.
  • Payment data — handled directly by Safaricom M-PESA. We receive only the transaction reference and status — never your PIN or full account details.

3. Why we collect it

To provide and improve the service, generate the reports you ask for, secure the platform against fraud and abuse, send you product updates if you opted in, and meet legal obligations. Legal bases include contract performance (delivering reports you paid for), legitimate interest (security, product improvement), and consent (marketing).

4. Who we share with

  • Safaricom M-PESA (Daraja) — payment processing, invoicing, and mobile-money settlement.
  • Hosting & infrastructure — Supabase (database, auth), Lovable / Cloudflare (compute, CDN).
  • Analytics — PostHog (product analytics) where consented to.
  • Authorities — where required by Kenyan law.

5. Retention

We keep account and report data while your account exists and for a reasonable period afterwards for legal and accounting purposes. Anonymised analytics may be kept longer. You can request deletion at any time.

6. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and ask us to stop processing it for marketing. Contact us via the contact page. We respond within 30 days.

7. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, role-based access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong unique password.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management, and analytics cookies (where you consent) to understand how the site is used. You can manage cookies via your browser settings.
